Licensing

You can send a letter or email to:

Office of Telecommunications
Mr. Kingsley Smith, Sr. Tech Officer
011 501 222 4938 Voice or  501-227-1185
011 501 222-4940 Fax   or   501-227-1149

Send a list of three callsigns with a request for any one of the three and state that if none of the three are available, to please issue any callsign. You can use QRZ.com or Google to see if potential callsigns may have been issued.

Mr. Smith (puctelecom@btl.net) will send a confirming e-mail message advising that a license fee of $30 US made payable to the Public Utilities Commission and should be forwarded to:

Public Utilities Commission
Mr. Kingsley Smith,
63 Regent Street,
P.O. Box 300,
Belize City, Belize       http://puc.bz/

Note: In the USA, International Money Orders (IMO) are no longer sold. The best way to send money will be to use a Cashiers Check which is written on the bank and not your own account (this ensures that it will not bounce).

He will Air Mail the license to you upon receipt of payment. Mr. Smith may also ask you to E-Mail him a list of equipment that you plan to bring with you so he could also issue a Temporary Import Permit for presentation to Belize Customs upon my arrival into the country.  Emails are rapidly and politely answered.  Notebook computers do not require an import permit.
